
After being largely eliminated in the Southwest region of the United States, Mexican Grey Wolves began a recovery process in the 1980s after the 1982 Mexican Wolf Recovery Plan where Mexico and the United States came together in an effort to protect the species. However, as the population and protected land has grown, so has the tension with ranchers who have suffered losses because of the wolf.
This project was led by Alan Davis, a videographer whom I have mentored for the last three years. Before he took an advanced multimedia class, Alan had never touched a camera before. For this project, I was his second videographer and helped him with some of the structure of the story.
